Omaha Invitational Champions

Leaf Ray headed to Omaha for Memorial Weekend, with Skate City serving as the venue. The team started slowly, falling behind 0–2 midway through the first half of their opening game against Puck Norris from Kansas City, MO. They began to come together as the game progressed but ultimately ran out of time, losing 2–3.

In the next couple of games, the team continued to improve and play with greater cohesion. They managed to defeat the Slow Rollers from Omaha, NE, by a score of 6–3. That win secured them the 2nd seed heading into the playoffs and a matchup against the Jokers from Kansas City, KS. The Jokers played strong defense, but Leaf Ray capitalized late, scoring two goals to pull away for a 4–1 victory.

The championship game was a rematch against Puck Norris from Kansas City, MO. Leaf Ray’s strategy focused on winning loose puck battles and maintaining puck possession. It paid off, as Leaf Ray recorded more than double the shots on goal and secured the championship with a 6–1 win.

Congratulations to the players: Blaine Barker, Peyton Sturtz, Whitney Sturtz, Ben Denum, Cody Poelhein, Matt Lynch (G), Levi Denum, and Drew Stanley.
