2025-2026 Leaf Ray PIHA Season Review

Lambs Grove Leaf Ray competes in the Minor Division of the Professional Inline Hockey Association (PIHA). This marked the team’s second season, entering the year with expectations of achieving an 80% win percentage and making a run in the PIHA Finals.

The team came out strong during the opening weekend, posting a perfect 8-0-0 record across eight games. However, the second weekend proved more challenging, as a shortened roster contributed to a 3-2-1 record, including a surprising loss to the win-less Manitou Vikings. Leaf Ray rebounded impressively during the final weekend, going 6-0-0. The team finished the regular season with a 17-2-1 record, securing the #2 seed in the playoffs.

In the opening round of the playoffs, Leaf Ray faced the #3 seed Falcon Vikings, a team they had beaten 4-0-0 in the regular season. Leaf Ray carried that momentum into Game 1 with a strong 6-3 victory. Game 2 was much closer, but Caiden Anderson sealed the win with a dramatic buzzer-beater, giving Leaf Ray a 5-4 victory and advancing them to the division championship.

In the championship round, Leaf Ray faced the Marvin TugBoats in a tightly contested series. Game 1 saw Leaf Ray take a 3-2 overtime win. Game 2 went in favor of the TugBoats, 4-3 in overtime, setting up a decisive Game 3. Despite a strong effort, Leaf Ray fell 3-2 in overtime, ending their playoff run.

While the team met several of its preseason expectations, they ultimately fell short of reaching the PIHA Finals. With a deep and overflowing roster, discussions of potential expansion for next season have begun. The offseason will play a key role in shaping what lies ahead for Leaf Ray.
