Leaf Ray was in Pittsburgh this weekend for our third MIHA tournament of the season. Leaf Ray came into the weekend in 9th place out of 24 teams with a 2-4-1 record.
First game up was Saturday morning against the home town team Grove City Thunderbirds. The game was a nail-bitter but ultimately Leaf Ray came out a victor 5-4 in a shootout. Next game was against Buffalo Fusion. Buffalo got some bounces their way which resulted in some early goals and Leaf Ray just couldn't rebound back in this 2-6 loss.
Leaf Ray got matched up against a very disciplined Detroit Fuel team in the playoffs. With only 2 minutes left in the game Leaf Ray found themselves down 0-3, pulled their goalie and managed to burry a couple of pucks. A final score of 2-3 sent Leaf Ray home early.
The team had some close games but didn't manage to any spots in the standings finishing the weekend in 9th place.
