Leaf Ray was in Indianapolis Indiana this weekend for our 3rd weekend of MIHA. The team came in with a strong special teams rating. PP was 92% (12/13) and PK was 100% (6/6). The team was ranked 2nd with a record of 5-2-1 coming into the weekend.
First game up Saturday afternoon was against #9 Windy City Syndicate (2-1). Syndicate came out strong jumping to a quick 1-3 lead. Leaf Ray battled back with 3 straight goals for the 4-3 win.
Second game up was against Lansing Street Sharks (1-0). It was a back and forth game but ended up in a shootout. Leaf Ray's first two shooters didnt score but Gavin Rock, Spencer Coltrain, and Jason Giorgi getting the next three secured the 7-6 victory.
For playoff Sunday, Leaf Ray was the #1 seed and got matched up against the Cincinnati Rollerdactlys. Leaf Ray started out strong but faded and let the Rollerdactyls score 4 stright to take the 4-5 win.
Leaf Ray may have fell short of yet another MIHA Tournament Championship, but they did climb from #2 to #1 in the league out of 23 teams with a 7-3-1 record.
