Leaf Ray was in Chicago this weekend for our final weekend of the regular season in MIHA. Leaf Ray came into the weekend in 13th place with a record of 3-6-1.
First game Saturday morning against Detroit Fuel. Leaf Ray's last game in Pittsburgh was against the Fuel in a close 2-3 loss. Detroit came out strong with an early 1-0 lead. Some adjustments made during the first intermission set the tone for the rest of the weekend as they came back to a big 8-5 win. Next game Leaf Ray started strong and controlled most of the game in the 6-4 victory.
Leaf Ray got matched up against Chi-Town Shamrocks (5-5-2) for playoff Sunday. It was a back and forth game. The game was sent to overtime with a late goal by the Shamrocks. The game ended with a Leaf Ray goal in Overtime sending the team onto the championship game.
The championship game was a tough one with a tired Leaf Ray team going up against the Chicago Mary Pats. Mary Pats took the 2-5 win. Overall we are not disappointed with the 2nd place finish.
Leaf Ray finished the weekend with a tournament 3-1 record, regular season record of 6-7-1 and currently in 5th out of 25 teams. Some teams still have tournaments left but top 12 will make MIHA Finals in Detroit on 05/20-05/21.
